NO KINGS 3: WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS?

This Saturday, people across the country will come together to make one thing clear: In America, there are no kings. History shows that when people come together in sustained, peaceful action, change is inevitable. That’s what “No Kings” is about: people standing up for democracy, for their communities and for a better future.

– SF: Meet at 11:30 am at Embarcadero Plaza, 12:00 March to Civic Center Plaza.

SF: Human Banner on Ocean Beach (mid-way down) – 11:00-12:30

Oakland meet at 12:00 Frank Ogawa/Oscar Grant Plaza, 1:00 March to Lake Merritt

There are also hundreds of smaller demonstrations in neighborhoods around the Bay Area.

This is our moment to show what people power looks like — peaceful, united and determined. Make your plan. Bring your friends and family.

And bring your signs. WILPF US has created visuals that are designed to clearly connect the fight for democracy at home with the fight for peace globally, and to make sure WILPF shows up visible and unified. Print them as posters, mount them on cardboard for durability outdoors and bring them with you this Saturday. Download the graphics here.

INTERNATIONAL WILPF CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE IN IRAN AND COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL LAW

2 March 2026

Over the past 48 hours, the world has witnessed a dramatic escalation of violence after the United States and Israel launched an unlawful military campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran, resulting so far in the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, other Iranian officials, and hundreds of civilians. An airstrike on a girls’ school n Minab alone is said to have killed more than 100 children and teachers.

In response, the Iranian government has launched missile and drone attacks on IsraeliGulf, and US military targets, including in other State territories. The conflict has expanded rapidly beyond Iran’s borders, with casualties on all sides, marking an unprecedented new chapter in US–Iran–Israel hostilities. It is, nevertheless, a continued trend of escalating and illegal attacks in the region: last June, we condemned Israel’s illegal airstrikes against Iran that aimed to sabotage ongoing nuclear talks between the US and Iran, which killed more than 400 people and temporarily displaced millions. For decades, the US and Israel have threatened strikes against Iran, imposed sanctions against the country, and unilaterally walked away from negotiated agreements about Iran’s nuclear programme.

International law is clear. Unilateral military offensives of this scale amount to an unlawful act of aggression. This fuels wider conflict, further undermines regional stability, and erodes the global rule of law, particularly when a Head of State is targeted and killed. States must speak out urgently and clearly to condemn these acts of flagrant aggression and violations of international law. A failure or delay to act not only reinforces the current prevailing impunity, but also the global trend of accepting that chaos and violence, fueled by militarism and imperialism, is inevitable.

WILPF condemns these attacks in the strongest possible terms. States must cease hostilities immediately and take every possible measure to prevent further loss of innocent life.

EMERGENCY HEALTH FUNDRAISER FOR CUBA

The Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS) is raising money for desperately needed medical aid to Cuba, as the country confronts the worst economic crisis in its history. The United States now is blockading oil shipments to Cuba which is resulting in hospital blackouts, increased danger of patient deaths, and Cubans living in rural areas not even making it to hospitals.

The U.S. is using its spurious inclusion of Cuba on the list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism” to wield increasingly punitive measures that limit the supply of food, fuel and basic medical supplies. To bolster this inhumane policy, right-wing members of Congress are slipping new, outrageous sanctions into broad budget legislation aimed at keeping the U.S. government running.

The U.S. is refusing to remove Cuba from its “terrorism list” even as Washington and Havana regularly hold counter-terrorism cooperation talks instituted during the Obama administration. This “terrorism” designation blocks Cuba from accessing the international banking system and prevents other countries from carrying on normal trade with Havana.” (Global Health Partners).

Please help by sending a check, payable to Global Health Partners, to CCDS,2334 20th St., San Pablo, CA 94806. Do not put the word “Cuba” on checks. CCDS will forward the checks to Global Health Partners. https://ghpartners.org/

The Good Friday Interfaith Witness at the Livermore Lab has been held every year since 1983. Livermore Lab was founded to develop the hydrogen bomb. New weapons of mass destruction are still designed there. For more than 35 years, people of faith and others concerned about the ongoing proliferation of nuclear weapons have gathered on Good Friday outside the Laboratory in Livermore. We strive for the healing of all nations. We pray, envision and work for repair, reconciliation, restoration, and transformation: toward the abolition of war, and, most especially nuclear weapons, worldwide.
